Hello there!

I'm Iris Queen, a clinical social worker living and thriving in the beautiful Pacific Northwest! Throughout my career, I've worn many hats, working for a number of human services agencies and mental health providers in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and in my home state of Maryland. I obtained a Bachelors of Science in Social Work, a Masters of Social Work, and certification as a Licensed Graduate Social Worker - all providing opportunities for my professional growth and development and to do the work that I love! Then, something happened! After 20 years of working in the field, I realized it was time to finally tend to my own personal growth and development! I did what any burned-out social worker would do in my situation, I took a 9-year personal sabbatical! So, from 2017-2025 I relentlessly pursued my own healing and transformation, became a human services and behavioral health consultant, adopted a plant-based diet, survived a global pandemic, traveled across the country from Maryland to West Seattle to do van life, circled back to Maryland purchased a sailboat and did boat life in Baltimore, worked in the gig economy, sold my boat, and helped my kid finish navigating through high school and then through college. After she graduated from college in May of 2024, I packed my bags and with 30 bucks in my pocket, I moved back to Seattle. A move which signaled the winding down of my personal sabbatical, finding my forever home, and engaging in meaningful work as a therapist.

A little more about me...

As of this writing, I'm the very proud mom of a 1st grade teacher. A lover of the natural environment, I'm passionate about engaging in sustainable environmental practices. To keep physically active and curious, I enjoy going for brisk walks and light hikes, exploring areas where wildlife are visible and active, bird watching, and engaging in nature photography. A foodie to the core, I enjoy plant-based cooking and trying my hand at baking! Did anyone say "milk tea?" Yeah, that's my new creamy and sugary gluttonous pleasure! And, in the very near future, I hope to learn to kayak and paddle board!
